Black Belt Designs emerged from a three day dress construction class, sponsored by the Coleman Center for Arts and Culture, York, Al. York  is located at the western edge of Alabama’s Black Belt. Our mission: “Serve to empower residents of the Black Belt of Alabama to attain greater self-assurance and economic independence through the creation of marketable hand-made clothing and art to wear.”

Black Belt Designs restructures, totally ripped, past life, denim jeans into one-of-a-kind designer jackets. Due to the hand cut and sewn quality of these garments, the sizes, colors and stitching may vary between each garment.
